Taking a bit of a dive again. I had a passable tune earlier in the week, but I ran out of time on the lyrics.
This started with my guitar tuned to DADGAD, because I had been playing "Kashmir." I don't think I've ever written in that tuning before. The title came from the grumblings of my sleep-deprived brain earlier in the week. It was one of those "I work 'third-shift' but I still have to get up to meet the school bus" days, where I see S off to school and then go back to bed. M, not knowing this, had opened the blinds and shades, and the bedroom was flooded with daylight. "I'm not done with the dark," I thought. And then I realized that 1) that was a really stupid thing to say; and 2) it might make a great song title.
There may be hope for this song, but it needs tons of work. We'll see if I ever get back to it ...
