No time for production this week. Barely time at all. Literally written in about 20 minutes, recorded in one take. But I think I actually sort of like it. Reminds me a lot of "Change of Season": a somewhat generic soulful pop tune that's not going to get me into the Songwriters' Hall of Fame but will probably make a nice vehicle for live performance. I could actually hear this working for either Gasket Hawkins or for the other new, as yet unnamed, band.
lyrics
I know it’s true
I’ve seen it coming
she found someone new
a heartbreak so numbing
a shot to my pride
I could hold it inside
but the rumors are flying
and engines are humming
I heard the stories
I know about ya
relive your glories
all those lovers that scorned ya
you’re taking it out
on the last one to doubt
if I catch you again
ain't gonna warn ya
man enough to see that you win
but if you hurt that little girl again
gonna be swimming in an ocean of pain
