TONY STARK WAS ABLE TO BUILD THIS IN A CAVE WITH A BOX OF SCRAPS!!
A Macbook Pro, a Yamaha YC Reface, and a Blue Snowball USB mic in a hotel room at the beach with a couple of kids and a wife in the way. It took some doing, but I was able to make something. I like the song's vibe, and the poetic structure. I also like "Philistine Sun," which is a phrase stolen shamelessly from Stephen King's "Gunslinger" (I decided I needed to read the Dark Tower series after Mr. West committed so much time and effort into writing an album about it). Needs lots of work, and the lyric is pretty much a total throwaway, but I think it's a cool idea.
Edit: Oh shit I didn't make my hook a question! I apparently completely forgot about that part of the requirement when writing the song, but remember upon re-reading the assignment this morning. Too late now. Probation bound! Dammit!
lyrics
Rears its ugly head when I awake
He’s on the run
Philistine Sun
Crossing bitter oceans sandy wake
Route 41
Philistine Sun
Nothing there but blazing desert ache
He’s not the one
But he’s got a (the?) gun
Letting go he hopes that he can save
His only son
Philistine Sun
Say goodbye there’s nothing you can take
Nowhere to run
Philistine Sun
Hate to say I think that you’ve been made
Second to none
Philistine Sun
Said he was the father just the same
He ain’t no fun
Philistine Son
Lit a fire, man it’s such a shame
Burned everyone
Philistine Son
Wish he could accept it’s just a game
He’s on the run
Philistine Sun
