A paean to an angry youngish man. I wanted to do a lot more with the vocal arrangement, but I just ran out of time. Darn Sunday gigs. I also have to say that trying to impersonate a doo-wop vocal group on Sunday morning, in-between gigs #3 and #4 for the weekend, is not an easy task.
lyrics
I heard you shouting through the walls tonight
walls tonight
you're never satisfied until they get it right
and they never get it right
over and over you cry
raise your hands up to the sky
no one lives up to your law
here inside all these lines that you draw
step back
take a deep breath
'cause you know love will
find its own way
just like
rivers to oceans
you don't have to
carry the weight
I know you never asked for black-cloud skies
on your sunny days
but I think you wake up with those stormy eyes
no matter what they say
over and over you cry
raise your hands up to the sky
no one lives up to your law
here inside all these lines that you draw
step back
take a deep breath
'cause you know love will
find its own way
just like
rivers to oceans
you don't have to
carry the weight
take your finger off the trigger, man
lay your burden to rest
can't you find you a better plan
don't you know you've been blessed
