A song for those fed up with listening to lies being compounded by more lies.
I had high hopes for this week; I felt like I had two strong ideas back on Monday, but I never really cracked either of those songs. But I'll take this one as a first draft. I'd definitely like to come back to it - I think there's a real platform for something genuine here.
lyrics
Silence getting loud in here
Silence is the thing I fear
But I won't watch you drown
In your own runaround
How far down this washed-out road
Do you think you've gotta go
Blacking out the sun
Don't care what you've done
Say the damn words
Do the damn thing
Say you're sorry
Say you mean it
I wish you'd notice
I wish you'd care
The space between
The truth, the dare
It's not the hell you think you'll find
Living with a little spine
Try it out, one day
Who knows what you’ll say?
Don't confuse the fact I'm here
With any hopes of coming clear
Cause you can't help yourself
All those trophies on your shelf
Say the damn words
Do the damn thing
Say you're sorry
Say you mean it
I wish you'd notice
I wish you'd care
The space between
The truth, the dare
