I've had a busy week. I was in Middle TN on Monday for my day job, Drove home Tuesday, a gig Thursday night in Star NC, A gig Sat night in Myrtle Beach. I had a song idea and had a verse, or maybe it was the chorus, written, but the rest of the song simply would not come. I'm starting to panic.
So I decided to write about the panic hoping it would help me to get to the other side. Instead it gave me a new song
lyrics
SEARCHING FOR A RHYME
The voices in my head,
have somehow gone away
For the first time in my life
I ain't got much to say
See I'm trying to write a new song,
and I'm searching for a rhyme,
but there ain't nothing coming,
and I'm about to lose my mind
(Instrumental break to fill time)
Townes made it look so easy
Pulling verses out of air,
I'm reaching and I'm grasping,
and ll I'm pulling is my hair
I'm getting pretty desperate
My panic it is real
Lord, Help me to write a new song,
or show me one that I can steal
(another Instrumental break)
The voices in my head,
have somehow gone away
For the first time in my life
I ain't got much to say
See I'm trying to write a new song,
and I'm searching for a rhyme,
but there ain't nothing coming,
and I'm about to lose my mind
