Very rushed this week. This one started out as a by-the-numbers Keef G-tuning ditty, and only found its lyrical heart late in the process. So, it'll probably remain a throwaway, unless I get some time to come back and give it some identity. We'll see.
lyrics
They ain't never gonna build a twosome
That makes less sense than us
Some come on jump right in
Let's take her out for a spin
We got a lotta things to discuss
I don't remember where I found you
I know I tried to give you back
We're mostly getting along
When they play our drinking songs
That's when you least like to attack
If you forget that name on the 45
You got that rhythm and the rumble keep a man alive
We've been driving round this town for an hour or two
And there ain't no sense in trying to get through to you
So gimme 'nother cigarette and turn it up loud
Tween you and me, two's a crowd
You got me spittin' in the wind
You been trying hard to shut me down
Ever since I opened my mouth
I been trying to dump you out I ain't messing about
Somewhere way down south
Do you think we've earned each other?
Maybe that's what we deserve
The broken bottles and glass, always the snake in the grass
Ain't no one else could find the nerve
If you forget that name on the 45
You got that rhythm and the rumble keep a man alive
We've been driving round this town for an hour or two
And there ain't no sense in trying to get through to you
So gimme 'nother cigarette and turn it up loud
Tween you and me, two's a crowd
You got me spittin' in the wind
