Well this took a dark turn I didn't expect. I'm learning a new DAW so bear with me while I get my bearings. This is the first project I've ever done in Logic so I kept it simpler than I usually would've, but I'm fairly happy with the vibe. The lyric needs some work and I definitely shoehorned the keyword in at the end, but eh...I've written worse. Like last week!
lyrics
Left them in Summer
Deep in her Winter time
Barely complained
Missing them dearly
She crossed the Rhineland
And soon lost her way
Sublime and panic
She spins so frantically
Losing her way
Can’t tell her anything
She lost her wedding ring
Where she can’t say
Hitched to Bastogne
Sad and alone yet
She pressed to Calais
Chasing her Springtime
Losing her mind
She was barely halfway
Sublime and panic
She spins so frantically
Counting the days
Can’t tell her anything
She lost her wedding ring
Where she can’t say
Crossing the channel
She took the ferry
It took all she’d saved
Onward to Dover
Soon to her lover
She’d smile and he’d wave
Sublime and panic
She spins so frantically
Today’s the day
Can’t tell her anything
She lost her wedding ring
Where she can’t say
She must’ve missed him
Pacing the dock
She had hoped to set roots
She left her family
Penniless, scrounging
Winklepicker boots
Sublime and panic
She spins so frantically
Depths cold and grey
Can’t tell her anything
She lost her wedding ring
Where she can’t say
