Write a single!? That’s what I’ve been doing the whole time! But seriously folks…
This tune found its way into my head earlier in the week. It sounds so familiar to me that I’m concerned I may have channeled something that already exists. I checked the melody with Sound Hound and three other friends and no matches so far so I hope it’s in the clear. Lyrically, it became a celebration of mediocrity; a song for the larger percentage of the population that doesn’t need or want to be in the limelight. Single wise – I hope it’s catchy enough to appeal to the masses. Enjoy!
lyrics
Subtle Wind
You might see me in the background
You might not notice me at all
But if you wonder why I’m standing here
I’m just taking my time, trying not to fall
You don’t even know my name
I search no fortune and no fame
Maybe one day you’ll remember me
I’ll just wait and see, Maybe I’ll spread my wings
Chorus
I’m just trying to ride a Subtle Wind
I’m not trying to make my way
If I fall into another well
I’ll hope and pray, it ain’t a rainy day
Don’t think that I don’t laugh at all
I live and love almost every day
And I don’t need to find another way
For another me, right here I’ll stay
I’m just trying to ride a Subtle Wind
I’m not trying to make my way
If I fall into another well
I’ll hope and pray, it ain’t a rainy day
And if you’re happy with the simple things
Then there ain’t no need for change
I’m just trying to ride a Subtle Wind
I’m not trying to make my way
If I fall into another well
I’ll hope and pray, it ain’t a rainy day
