Continuing with the goal of writing commercial guitar-based pop-rock tunes for licensing purposes, and I really dig this one. Started out with a bit of a Neon Trees inspiration, caught a little Big Country feel, and then ended up in my familiar 3rd-rate U2 mode. Lyrics are fairly useless, but that's not the main focus for me in this round.
lyrics
Crazy
How’d we get so lazy?
Used to be amazing
Now we seem so tired
Don’t wait
Wake up ‘fore it’s too late
Show me you still shoot straight
Show me you still care
All the minutes turn to days
The flames have lost their blaze
Have we lost our way?
We’ll dance through the rain
Dance through the dark
We’ve come too far to stop the song
I’ll find you again
We’ll make our own mark
Somewhere down this road where we belong
My girl
I’m not done with this world
Let’s give this ride a last whirl
There’s gas left in this tank
like a sunburst Meet you on the outskirts
If you feel your heart hurts
The poison that we drank
All the minutes turn to days
The flames have lost their blaze
Have we lost our way?
We’ll dance through the rain
Dance through the dark
We’ve come too far to stop the song
I’ll find you again
We’ll make our own mark
Somewhere down this road where we belong
