I didn't set out to write another small song this week, but this one had the best bones of anything I started. Lots of lyric work to do, but I think this might make another nice duet for Molly and I to do together.
lyrics
picking up the pieces of a falling star
nothing left but crumbles in the candy jar
must’ve been a fighter, never got so far
you never let it show
kicking at the castles as the tide’s rolling out
thought it was a hope, it’s just a shadow’s doubt
your lion’s-roar, more like a twist than a shout
will you ever find your way?
There’s a tempest in your hushthere’s a patience in your rushcan I reach inside and find your way?
Sweet grace, don’t dry your eyes
dance on the thorns, just dance on the thorns
Rains come where willows weep
The world is so much, the world is so much with you
Sometimes I dream about the victory lap
Another feather in your champions cap
Open my eyes up and you’re lost in the gap,
and I don’t know what to say
not every songbird finds their tune to sing
but when no-one’s looking, saw your flex your wings
i’ll be beside you should you need anything
or should you need a harmony
Sweet grace, don’t dry your eyes
dance on the thorns, just dance on the thorns
Rains come where willows weep
The world is so much, the world is so much with you
