I kinda like this one - despite the 6/8 restriction, it's getting a little closer to that Stax-meets-Faces vibe I'm looking for. Oddly, I think the chorus is pinching the melody from something, and I keep coming back to Journey, of all things, but I can't put my finger on it. It's a little like the melody of "Mother, Father," but I don't think that's what I'm hearing. Dunno.
Lyrically, this is once again completely a placeholder lyric. I hate to keep doing that this round, but I did set a goal this time of trying to hone in a certain new style or vibe as my primary concern. If I pick a few tunes I like, I'll really dig in on the lyrics for a second draft. I won't even bother including these.
