Tried multiple ideas on this "hospital" concept and found it had me really stuck! I feel like what i came up with is musically derivative of something, but i can't figure out what. Anyone? Who am i subconsciously copying? ha. Ultimately, the assignment gave me an unexpected chance to write something that puts into words my fears of losing loved ones (bet you can't wait to enjoy this upbeat ditty now, huh?!) looking fwd to critiques!
lyrics
Baby don’t leave me
It’s selfish to say
But I know without you
I can’t do another day
I feel your heartache
I know you’re in pain
But if you should sleep
I don’t want to wake up again
cuz we’ve traveled so long now side by side
The wonder of this world reflecting in both our eyes
All the animals journey together and it’s much better two by two
So wherever you go, my love, take me with you
I should be grateful
Cuz life’s been so kind
For giving us these years,
The best in my life
The cruel twist of fate now
Has taken your fight
So I’m holding your hand and I’m praying under these hostpital lights
