I wish I had more time to work on this, I think this could turn out cool with a little TLC. I think there are more (and better) words for this, and the coda at the end is dying to go into another tune with, potentially, a recapitulation of the A and B sections to set it off. I'll definitely be revisiting this one.
lyrics
Summer solstice, it’s the longest day
Didn’t lose my mind, it up and walked away
Turn back the clock, unholy pantomime
Bound by those hands, and those hands ain’t mine
It’s five o’clock somewhere, it’s quittin’ time
Yes, I’d some cheese to pair with my whine
A chilly prospect, all this savagery
Eats away at you, chews the fat with me
Ain’t much of a conversationalist, but I know, it’s fine
Can’t suffer lawless bondage the Lord of the Flies
Had meetings with the devil and his human resource head
Said his synergy is rockin’, but his bottom line is dead
Know how to meet your quota, man, you need a little rise
Send word out to the river man, he got coins coming out his eyes
Have another clean cup, now move your ass on down
The carpenter and walrus got the best of what's around
He smokes pall mall cigarettes, and quaffs leaded gasoline
He ain't right in the head if you can follow what I mean
