Here's the deal with this song: it's a terrible song. Or at least, extremely mediocre. What I like about it is the story: I was at a trio gig today, with the amazing rhythm section of Dana Bearror and Corky McClellan. I decided that I would challenge myself to write my song during our break and to teach it to those guys to record with me. And that's what we did. I wrote the song in less than half an hour, taught it to them in about 90 seconds, and then we recorded in one take on my phone. And that's exactly what you hear here. And that's probably the last you'll hear of it. And now I have 5 days this week to not worry about writing and recording a song.
lyrics
You made a mess of this
You blew it with a kiss
I saw it all go down
I watched you play the clown
How did you miss it
How did he know
That he had you from hello
After the drama
After the rain
You forgot the lies and pain
The next goodbye
Leave it dark
A period
Not a question mark
Make sure he hears
What you say
Make sure he knows
When you walk away
There is no next goodbye
