This song has almost nothing to do with the Silver Moon. It really has almost nothing to do with anything. This was a covid week for me, so I had lots of time, very little inspiration, and no voice. Nonetheless, I don't hate this. True, it's a third-rate U2/Coldplay knockoff, and when it came time to try to croak out a melody from this 'rona-ravaged voice, there wasn't much there, and it was painful to do it. So I didn't worry much about melody, and even less about lyrics. And I ended up with what will hopefully be a fairly useful beginning to a licensing track, which is my primary goal for this round, anyway.
lyrics
Put down your glass it’s not a casual occasion
A clue to solve, it’s a difficult equation
You take the left and you know I’ll claim the right
Let’s not pretend it’s not the south in June
Gin and juice outside the Silver Moon
Even ice gonna sweat, gotta melt tonight
If there’s a method in your pain
It’s just the rules behind the rain
The gift that Abel gave to Cain
You know it
I wish I had a better way
To return this perfect day
I guess we’ll have to make our way
Below it
So what if we ain’t got the goods for the go-time?
So what if we ain’t won the prize in the prime time?
Not everybody’s got the money for the show
The night was made for the hidden corners
Some live to shine, some are always mourners
We’ll find our place when they teach us, blow by blow
If there’s a method in your pain
It’s just the rules behind the rain
The gift that Abel gave to Cain
You know it
I wish I had a better way
To return this perfect day
I guess we’ll have to make our way
Below it
