I'm so disappointed this week. My trusty recording machine and interface finally decided to bite the dust. I really wanted to do a full production with synths and electro drums and all but that didn't happen. I thought about bowing out because I feel like production is an instrument itself but Doug and Patrick talked me out of it. I recorded this on a crappy laptop mic and an acoustic guitar, wish I could have done more but I have to get a new setup. Anyway, I decided to go full on goth this week as it was a big part of post-punk. I heavily leaned on some old Sisters of Mercy and Peter Murphy/Bauhaus for inspiration. The lyrics are silly but it was fun.
lyrics
And she tastes just like nightmares
In the darkest of the night
And she screams just like lightning
When the wolf inserts his bite
And her dreams are all forsaken
As she sinks into the doom
So behold the transformation
Soon she'll be howling at the moon
With the night there comes a hunger
And the blood it flows like rain
And she'll feel the passion of the butchery and pain
With the moon there comes a calling
Of the beast she can't contain
The rising sun of morning sends her crashing down again
And the daylight brings a hearbreak
As she longs for the wicked black
And the night she is for certain
When the demon will attack
And she feels the vile desire
As her eyes will look so strange
So she craves the vicious cycle
As the fever will bring the change
With the night there comes a hunger
And the blood it flows like rain
And she'll feel the passion of the butchery and pain
With the moon there comes a calling
Of the beast she can't contain
The rising sun of morning sends her crashing down again
Consuming is the hunger
It's like a primal awakening
The taste of blood will fuel the fire
Of the blackest black of flames
Embrace your destiny
And taste the blood with me
With the night there comes a hunger
And the blood it flows like rain
And she'll feel the passion of the butchery and pain
With the moon there comes a calling
Of the beast she can't contain
The rising sun of morning sends her crashing down again
