Working on a new collaborative project whose general style is somewhere along the shoegazer/dreampop spectrum. My intention is to not delve too deeply into any kind of pastiche, but sometimes, that takes a few tries. This definitely feels like a bit of an obvious nod to some of the big guns of shoegazer. I guess I don't mind a little imitation, here at the beginning of the project, as long as it leads me towards something a bit more original. Lyrics are throwaway.
lyrics
You’re moving slow
All fires below we’re past the point of shifting down
Your cold lips
My passing ships
The old reunion
Run aground
for all these ashes rained
These tears you hide
For every burning tide
These tears you hide
For every turning gear
These tears you hide
For every sinking sun
These tears you hide
Forget the snow
The glacial floe
You place your hands
upon my own
This diamond night
This last cold light
we turn the remnants
Into stone
For every bending branch
These tears you hide
For every dying day
These tears you hide
For every bitter breath
These tears you hide
For all these ashes rained
These tears you hide
