Well I could have gone for the obvious RADIOHEAD which everyone knows is my jam but I didn't. I went for another guy and his band that made a big impact on me with the dark lyrics and lofi recordings. This song even has a chord progression of one of their tunes in reverse and a few lyrical references. I'm sure you folks that know me will figure it out. Another rough last minute recording.
lyrics
So glad that we found
You were head first on the ground from the start
With your crooked crosses
And the marks on your arm that you’d hoped you would never come back from
When we found you lifeless
Blood coming out all over the bathroom floor
It wasn’t your time yet
You always said you would turn into flowers and run
You fell far from hiding
Where apples don’t grow where strangers remember your name
So he hurt you badly
You cut up yourself and you hoped you would wither away
No one would miss you
And no one would come when they put you away in the ground
With everyone laughing
And smelling of secrets that that they dared never to tell
Oh how I remember you
Mother would drink herself to sleep
And father would worry away in the basement where he always stayed
And you’d not been quite the same
Since you learned to speak in tongues
And you hid yourself behind your sweater
We all wondered where you’d gone
So glad we found you
You have so much to live for
So glad we found
So go turn yourself back into a flower and run
