This track is horrible! This was my first experience recording on a phone and it wasn't good. AG will have to give me some pointers...The vocal is way too low. The guitar was probably too close to the phone. I'm on vacation with the fam and had no inspiration as I'm surrounded by five teenage boys trying to all get along, ugh.. The song is silly and that is how I'm feeling right now. I recorded this track in the bathroom of the condo we were in. Anyway, I visit Venice Beach quite frequently when I'm in Los Angeles. On several occasions, I believe I have seen the same mangy cat hanging around watching people go by on the street. This song is about Venice Beach, that cat, and the people who are there.... IF YOU LISTEN AT THE END, that is my opinion of this track. Not my best week by far...
lyrics
Well I'm just a little cat sitting on a hill
Watching the people go by
I ain't got no problems if I did I'd solve'em
Even if it made me cry
My fur's kinda mangy you can say I'm kinda lazy
I don't even want to know why
I just need a hit of a little catnip
A simple bit to widen my eye
Now I don't need a collar or a fancy feast
I just need a place to dwell
And I don't need a double decker litter box
I'd much rather chase some tail
All the people I see are acting like me
Kicked back and glassy eyed
And this ocean breeze is smelling kinda green
It's like their own paradise
All the hippies, the junkies and the troubadours
And this dirty old alley cat
Are as high as a peach down at Venice Beach
Like a bunch of stoned sandy rats
Now I don't need a collar or a fancy feast
I just need to lurk with my friends
And I don't need a double decker litter box
I just wannabe dazed to the end
Now I don't need a collar or a fancy feast
I just need a place to dwell
And I don't need a double decker litter box
I'd much rather chase some tail
