I think I kinda like this one. Might be a candidate for a Mystery Dates tune. Unfortunately, I didn't figure out what the song was about until well into the lyric-writing process, and there wasn't enough time to bring it into focus, but that's a workable job for another draft.
lyrics
Shivers come to a shout
No matter what it's about
Once you think you figured it out
Oh, there ain't no stopping
Your rage
Drown my senses in sin
Wondering when I begin
Volunteer my Siamese twin
Oh for the front lines
don't say the money's tight
the blood will start to flow
soon as we get flush again
we always come to blows
you can do them fancy steps
but your tell, it starts to show
and I won't lay my money down
when you start to speak
you start your losing streak
funny how you think you're a sneak
oh, this situation
and when that river she rise
I've seen that look in your eyes
The worst, backstage, rehearsing their lies
Best lack all conviction
Once again
don't say the money's tight
the blood will start to flow
soon as we get flush again
we always come to blows
you can do them fancy steps
but your tell, it starts to show
and I won't lay my money down
