I like the vibe of this, and the melody/feel is sound, I think, for a potential Mag Green track (despite my terrible drumming, once again). The lyrics will need a full overhaul, though. I sensed that I had headed down the wrong path lyrically, early on, but not early enough to have time to rewrite, so it is what it is, for now.
lyrics
Lost in my own town
Drank the oceans, I’m fit to drown
Did you lose your voice
I knew you never had the choice
Could it be somewhere
Could it be someone
When the lights went down like a
setting sun
We set a course with no safe destination
Who said
Time can’t erase us
If the shadows still chase us
At least we got lost
You said
Dance to no music
If there’s a memory just use it
If that’s all that you’ve got
No declaration of war
You don’t have to explain no more
rip tides and castaways
never could have asked you to walk away
Some can speak their dreams
some try to stitch the seams
Some die for what they can’t have
inside an acorn, the oak
We’re reaching out for a handful of smoke
Who said
Time can’t erase us
If the shadows still chase us
At least we got lost
You said
Dance to no music
If there’s a memory just use it
If that’s all that you’ve got
Say your prayers, lock ‘em tight
and be glad for what you ain’t done
how we knew to turn back when we
flew up so close to the sun
Who said
Time can’t erase us
If the shadows still chase us
At least we got lost
You said
Dance to no music
If there’s a memory just use it
If that’s all that you’ve got
