This one is pushing Joshua's concept a little bit, but it could be argued that it does, in fact, express an emotion I would ordinarily express in everyday life.
Last week, Molly and I were at a Jason Isbell concert and witnessed a hotheaded woman get into it pretty violently with a hotheaded male stranger, and when she chased him out of the auditorium, I just watched the woman's male companion shake her head and watch her go. Should he have gone to protect her? Of course. But things had escalated pretty far, and if he had gone out, he surely would have been obliged to carry the thing through. I decided I'd write a fictional song from his perspective.
lyrics
There ain't no way that we can live this down
It ain't a big enough town
You come out swinging, throw your weight around
All 97 pounds
You got 'em clearing out the bar again
I shoulda won a Purple Heart
Baby, loving you is tearing me apart
There you go, you run your mouth again
Can't you see you're heading for a crash?
It's just another check you gone and wrote
I'm gonna be the one to cash
And every bouncer in this hothead town
They know your name by heart
Baby, loving you is tearing me apart
Limb from limb
Toe to toe
Baby's getting warmed up and it's time to go
Dust to dust
Eye for eye
Baby, settle down before the fists are flyin'
Oh, honey, can't you see?
You're gonna be the death of me
I love the way you ain't to afraid to fight
Your rage, it makes you feel alive
But honey, one time can't you set your sites
Somebody under 6 foot 5
You know if I keep standing by your side
They'll roll me outta here in a cart
Baby, loving you is tearing me apart
Limb from limb
Toe to toe
Baby's getting warmed up and it's time to go
Dust to dust
Eye for eye
Baby, settle down before the fists are flyin'
Oh, honey, can't you see?
You're gonna be the death of me
