Maybe I'm amazed at the way you hurt me all the time Maybe I'm afraid of the way I let you Maybe I'm amazed at the the way you pulled me out of time And hung me on a line Maybe I'm amazed at the way I really need you Maybe I'm a man and maybe I'm a lonely man Who's in the middle of something That he doesn't really understand Maybe I'm a man and maybe you're the only woman Who would never help me Baby won't you help me understand Maybe I'm amazed at the way you haunt me all the time Maybe I'm afraid of the way I leave you Maybe I'm amazed at the way you pretend to play along Even when I'm wrong Maybe I'm amazed at the way I really need you Maybe I'm a man and maybe I'm a lonely man Who's in the middle of something That he doesn't really understand Maybe I'm a man and maybe you're the only woman Who would never help me Baby won't you help me understand

All the lyrics are the same as the original except the bridge where I changed "When I look in their direction now" to "Can't seem to break this connection now".

I have never seen a life so beautiful… Br Such a stunner it’s your mind that I keep dreaming of So smart, funny kind & spilling over love Yes you look like a trillion dollars glamorous But it’s the whole package that makes you so… s

So you think you're bad, with your rap Well I'll tell ya pilgrim I started the crap When you were in diapers and wetting the sheets I was at the Ponderosa rapping to the beat Da haahh, da haahh Da ha-hahh ha-hahh haahh Sure I rustled some cattle and tended the sheep But my main concern was rapping to the beat I don't bother nobody I'm a real nice guy, kinda laid back like a, dead fly Da haahh, da haahh Da ha-hahh ha-hahh haahh Da haahh, da haahh Da ha-hahh ha-hahh haahh I'm talkin, here and now Later for the cattle and rustlin the cow If I had a chance to do a repeat You can bet your sweet dippy I'd be rappin to the beat Da haahh, da haahh Da ha-hahh ha-hahh haahh Que pasa amigos? Not a *pasa* I see Two hundred punks well what ya gonna do? I got two six shooters that'll see me through That's, twelve dead... and a hundred and eighty-eight pallbearers Da haahh, da haahh Da ha-hahh ha-hahh haahh What I do on your grave won't pass for flowers either Now Kurtis Blow, Run-D.M.C. about

This week’s assignment comes from P-Fug, and it’s an interesting one:

"It seems everyone these days is turning out their version of a " cover tune" , and while i am all about writing original music I feel we could maybe do a weekly song challenge week where we re-imagine a cover song of our choice. Doesny have yo be a top 40 hit. It can be a tune that you have strong feelings for. The first tune you learned on guitar, your First dance song, the first song you heard Megadeath play live..I really don't care. It may also be interesting if you take a song you feel you really like ( or dont like) but always came up a bit short for you. The main thing here to emphasize is " REIMAGINE IT" . If I hear Mitchell Snow cover WAGON WHEEL and just do the Hootie version with " Mitchell Voice" , I will get in my car , drive up to Toronto, knock on his door and open palm slap him in the skull. Just sayin. Get creative dont just keep the same chords and slow down " Rebel Yell" to a sensitive song and call it a day. Change the Melody, change the structure, hell change the lyrics. Turn that damn Desposito song Punk!! Have fun w this, but since Doug has always emphasized the " songwriting aspect" of this little MM3AM club, throw your Songwriting skills at it and really re-imagine a song that you think you can make your own. LET THE LAWSUITS BEGIN!!”

So, I’ll relax the “no co-writes” rule for this round, I guess. But PLEASE - I want to see actual songwriting in this rewrite. As Patrick emphasized, don’t give me a new arrangement of an existing tune. I need to hear actual songwriting work!
