She brings the sunshine from the rain Oh how I love how she kills my pain Sittin on the bottom I'm waitin on her grace Gotta to find a way to get outta this place Oh, how she calls At first introduction I was oversold She sang to me like Brigitte Bardot Warm luscious honey running under my skin Oh how I never want this feeling to end Oh, how she calls Sweet little lady comin down the line Oh how I long for your divine Paradise awaitin when you come through I never ever want to be away from you Oh, how she calls

"No matter what you say to me Them gays they got it wrong," Your mom said on the phone today While I was hitting on the bong I just rolled my prayer rug And spilled my purple drank Took my big fat welfare check Right down to the bank Babe, you know I love you, but Sometimes it gets old Living with yr Dad, the chief of the local Border Patrol Keeping all them immigrants out of Pfafftown, King, and Clemmons Bitching 'bout the Africans And that uppity Don Lemon Yr sister's bouncing round Singing some damn song by Miley Yr daddy looks me up and down While quoting Bill O'Reilly They say that we're divided Past the point of consensus But that's just at the point where we all Drop all our defenses Tighter than the cat and mouse Living in a Red-blue house "You call that thing a job you do?" Yr momma loves to say But that's her favorite hobby While she sits around all day "You kids are all so lazy, with yr lattes and yr androids i'm tired of paying taxes For your pap smears and yr hemorrhoids" My head is spinning round from all the Causes that we harped on If you need me, I'm making macrame and Excuses for Al Sharpton Thank god, our family ain't got no Political ambition Cause lord knows blowing hot air is a pre-existing condition Yr sister's bouncing round Singing some damn song by Miley Yr daddy looks me up and down While quoting Bill O'Reilly They say that we're divided Past the point of consensus But that's just at the point where we all Drop all our defenses Tighter than the cat and mouse Living in a Red-blue house

when I 'm talking to someone- someone new they'll say something I don't wanna know Flipping through the papers trying to do some reading and I don't wanna know looking through the Facebook trying to find some peace and theres something I don't wanna know I think Id rather eat a razor than see your twitter feed cause I dont wanna know I don't wanna know and you bet I'll tell you so I don't care if you're red or blue, gay or straight we're all people, folk, and I don't wanna know kids today will tell you everything yeah, and I don't wanna know Moms and dads will fight about world peace and I don't wanna know I dont wanna know and you know I will tell you so I don't care if you're red or blue, you're gay or straight we're all people, folk, and 'm gonna say I dont wanna know who you are leaving cause theres certainly something y'all are needing but I don't wanna know

Feelings hurt, I fake it Share my heart you break it Never made a difference anyway Was it my fault maybe Don't you love your baby? Not sure what else I could say Falling apart not this time Put it back together by myself Feel the weight of photos Carry it around You can't touch me now And I still hear your voice I'm Haunted by the sound But You can't touch me now The shouting always scared me Took a toll and our family Crumbled to pieces Now I'm starting over Alone but feeling stronger Lost That control over me Falling apart not this time I'm gonna make it on my own... My way

Jason LeVasseur - Amanda Knox "Welcome home Amanda!" - I wrote it on the sign I waited at the airport behind the police line I fell in love with pretty American girl the bloody knife was evidence and the lawyer tied it to you and somewhere between guilt and innocence your smile came through I fell in love with pretty American girl guilty or innocent doesn’t matter to me I’m only hoping you will notice

Did he tie you up again and say I love you? Did he put some new marks upon your skin that say I love you? Please don't tell me everything I hear it all quite well you say the scars will go away that he destroys because he cares and he never meant to to lay a hand on you He even brings you flowers every day I heard you cried yourself to sleep last night once again if i was leopard I would rip his veins and shut his mouth forever and then you'd never have to fear your life again my dear you say the scars will go away That I wouldnt understand the kind of love that you share you say the scars will go away He even brings you flowers these walls they talk too loud and you swear that you fell down i think you take it way too long these walls they talk too loud and you swear you that you fell down so this is how it is to be in love Did he tie you up again and say I love you?

about

Dugga's assignment for Week 1:

"I want you to write a song from a first-person perspective, with a narrative structure. Musically, you're wide-open; anything goes. Content-wise, I want you to write - as directly or indirectly as you'd like, but please try to take the spirit of the assignment to heart - about a hot-button political, social, or religious topic, without in any way being polemical about it. That is, don't let me think, in any way, that you're propagandizing. I have a few song references in mind, but a good one to start with is Ben Fold's "Brick." At heart it's a story, a love story in a weird way, with a hot-button topic at its center that is in no way taking a stance on the topic itself."
