The track could be considered long but it seemed to be happy that way. I almost deleted the acoustic/vox intro but decided to leave it to fulfill the assignment more clearly. The form is unique which some may or may not notice. Overall it was a ton of fun to write and record!
lyrics
Angeline
By Duncan May
Angeline came to me in a dream as a friend
But soon she turned into a quite workable sin
I was lost, inside her eyes.
Tragedy was never so fair / She wore rosemary blooms in her hair
So she smelled like thanksgiving / Everyday and never cared.
She carried her own weight / Blue flames for a halo
Wings on her feet / to stay above the noise
As a crow flies / to the heart of an angel
A straight shot woman / than a slow walk away, walk, away, walk away with me.
The dance seems to never end / the bitter-sweet summer
Took it to the limitless / took it to each other
In time we feel in love / after years of shadow dancing
We put blood in the water / so we would both stick around, stick around,
stick around with me
Angeline, Angeline, Angeline
All that ‘s left is a memory / some wrinkles and some scars
A dream born from the ash / A dream alive in the stars
She had eyes of deliverance / She wore pain like ecstasy
She saw art in ugliness / She gave everyone love, love, love
