Well, I had a little bit of time this week but ran a little short on inspiration, I'm afraid. I like the gist of this, but it just didn't quite gel. I did enjoy playing drums again this week, though, so there's that.
lyrics
Were you thinking that no one saw you
When you were tying the final knot
Were you counting on holy mercy
or was it only an afterthought
‘Cause I could see you were counting daylight
Buried your own remorse
Where the whispers would gut your stage fright
only strengthened your show of force
ain’t no good luck, ain’t no bad
only us, come loose at the seams
So you just call it what you will
Broken mirrors and magpie dreams
And I was thinking about the days
When you dug up the ancient scrolls
Before you set what we built ablaze
On the backs of the slaves you stole
So what does it take to steel you
Against the voices that scream your name
Have you bought all the lies they told you
That the gods have erased your shame
ain’t no good luck, ain’t no bad
only us, come loose at the seams
So you just call it what you will
Broken mirrors and magpie dreams
