Another one of those weeks; this is a one-hour, one-take job. Strangely, though, I like it! This might be my favorite MM3AM thing that I've done in a while. A "small song," no doubt. I've been wanting to write some songs that Molly and I could do together at some point; this might be a candidate for a project like that.
Funny enough - I was aware of "borrowing" from a couple of David Lowery melodies, and it didn't occur to me until M pointed it out that I also borrowed heavily from a certain Tears for Fears melody ... That's OK; I'm sticking with it!
lyrics
One day, we will get it all together
Someday, we will find the missing part
For all we know, the key is sitting right beside us
For all we know, for all we know
here’s a broken memory of a first glance
a snatch of conversation overheard
these are pieces we combine
to build upon our heart’s design
did we ever write the final words
One day, we will get it all together
Someday, we will find the missing part
For all we know, the key is sitting right beside us
For all we know, for all we know
You are not you when you are with me
I am a different man when you help me
But something always seems to come
in between the bass and drum
Something always sour in our
Sweet melody
One day, we will get it all together
Someday, we will find the missing part
For all we know, the key is sitting right beside us
For all we know, for all we know
