The assignment this week comes from George:

"I lead/teach a ukulele group called MAUI – Mount Airy Ukulele Invasion. It's a quarterly course with a concert as a finale. Each quarter, I pick four new songs. I record and arrange all or most of the parts to be taught on the uke. This can be pretty challenging to ensure I keep everyone happy. Whenever possible, I like to teach local artists' songs although I have yet to pursue this a lot. I've taught a couple of mine, and a few other local songwriter's songs so far.

Students' ages range from 5-85, so I have to have a good filter on a song in order for it to work. It basically needs to be G-rated, or at least PG and fairly simple to play. Some complicated parts are welcome, of course, too. I try to keep my ears open for good, appropriate songs to teach.

I always choose secular songs, even during the holidays, and try to leave politics at the door, too. Many other adult situations are off the table, too.

For this week, I would like for you to write a song that would work for this class. I have arranged roughly 80 songs so far. Below are some examples of songs I have done:
