I started this song at 11pm Sunday night and finished around 2:30am on Monday. This is another example of trying to write the music first. There were many happy musical accidents that led to this.
The lyrics are pretty open and vague but were the last part of the puzzle at crunch time. .
It needs some work for sure, but I like where it's going.
lyrics
Why don’t you just breathe
Wake up and see what’s there to see
You’re only wasting time
Cozy with wool over your eyes
Come on face the dark
Exploit the innocence and tear us apart
Don’t need the night light on
Just close your eyes until the dawn
No need to compromise
You always wear disguise
Belly full of lies
You say you’ll never cave
Judgement comes either way
Come lay it on the line
