A couple of months ago, my son, Dorian and I were playing with his cars. Suddenly, I blurted out the melody and words, “Flying Police Car.”
We have since developed characters for some of the vehicles. We make up episodes each time we play now, which is usually every day for at least a little while.
With the assignment this week, I knew I had to actually write the
theme song, “Flying Police Car.” Even though I’m pretty sure the rules say all of the ideas can only be used from within this round, I figured it was worth whatever punishment to bring it to life; this week especially.
I was able to work on this song a few times over the last few days. This was my first attempt at playing drum kit on a MM3AM song, and I learned a lot tonight. It was a lot of fun to be able to make time to experiment this week.
lyrics
Intro:
Dorian:
"I want to do episodes. Eighteen episodes!"
"Ah! Oh no! You're gonna chase me!"
Chorus:
Flying Police Car (x8)
Verse 1:
Driving around from town to town
And galaxies unknown
Pursuit of every villain
Wherever they may roam
Traversing every mountain And underneath the caves
No end in sight till we put things right
Or locked inside a cage
Chorus:
Flying Police Car (x8)
Verse 2:
There may be giant dragon tyrants
Or parking a-la-mode
Plots to block the sun and stunt
The vegetative growth
Even if it’s just a race there’s
Still a moral code
No one wins and every end’s
The next episode, of
Chorus:
Flying Police Car (x8)
Solo/characters:
"Ha ha ha! I'm Race Car!"
Green Army Truck
Fred and Sam
and Tickle
