I wrote the lyrics and played around with a couple of chord progressions, but this is the first thing I recorded when I put them together; warts and all, under an hour. Happy to think there's something worth revisiting, though.

Ideologies fade
Like an eroding hillside
That didn’t make the grade

I thought colored
was a thing of the past
Waning with the aging
Generational gap

But I was mislead
What goes on in your head?

That everything would be ok

I thought that we all had a choice

I thought you’d taken ignorance 
And doused with gasoline
