Murder. Hmm. Well, I'm certainly a fan of the well-written murder ballad, and I've written a few in my time. But that seems kinda obvious, no? So my big idea was to write the happiest pop tune I could manage that touches on the idea of murder. And I'm pretty happy with some of these melodies. Alas, my week got a little weird, and time got away from me, and the song didn't quite achieve its potential, especially in the lyric department. Still, it makes me tap my toes and think of knives and ropes, so that's … interesting, right?
lyrics
I lost the battle
I lost the war
I lost her love
when you walked in the door
That used to bug me i got over it
I could never be the man she needs to commit
If you shd ever hurt a hair on her head
There's gonna be a problem
If you say run away
I'll go run away
Honest as a hornet's stinger
But keep your cool tonight
If you wanna stay alive
Got an itchy trigger finger
I don't wanna kill you
But i will if i have to
I don't wanna hear another bad word,
you don't wanna treat her right
I don't wanna hurt you
But i will if you make me
Treat her like the queen she is to me
You'll wish you didn't pick this fight
I know your address
I stole your phone
I know where you drink
And when you like to get stoned
I wish you joy and i wish you pain
I wish for knives inside your jugular vein
But as long as you love her
I'll stay out of the way
I'll give you space but just a little
If you say run away
I'll go run away
Honest as a hornet's stinger
But keep your cool tonight
If you wanna stay alive
Got an itchy trigger finger
I don't wanna kill you
But i will if i have to
I don't wanna hear another bad word,
you don't wanna treat her right
I don't wanna hurt you
But i will if you make me
Treat her like the queen she is to me
You'll wish you didn't pick this fight
