the assignment was to write songs for a girl country group....a group with attitude, who is not afraid to put up a fight.

So I wrote this....

(tried recording it twice- sorry for the brittle, rushed mix, but it it conveys the tune. Also- imagine a pedal steel playing all the noodling guitars)

The next word, I think you know it don't rhyme with happy... yeah

Don't give another tip of your hat
we all know your daddy had a a wallet that was fat
that's how you got your name on the map, cause you sure ain't scrappy

Tired of all these wanna-be rockers
walking over here just to muddy the waters
a real country boy don't talk about last night

we're gonna get back to the gritty with our guitars
fiddles and bows who cares about the rock stars
cause this little lady is up for the fight
