This was for Doug's Assignment: "After years of being everyone's favorite local singer that never gets up on stage, Ms. Susan Snow is showing signs of life. She's a capable writer with no help necessary from you, thank you, but let's pad out her setlist. Write a song for Susan. I realize that not all of you know her, and even those that do may not have seen her in her element. To give you a primer, she's a rootsy, gutsy, Cosmic-American-style singer. I often think of her for her amazing recreations of Emmylou Harris songs. She sings like an angel, but she's plenty earthy, too. She digs Gillian Welch and the Replacements, the Jayhawks and the Pretenders, Lucinda Williams and Beck ... you get the picture. I don't know if everyone can see this, but here's a link to her in performance recently: www.facebook.com/video.php?v=10204460787066992&pnref=story" - not sure I really got this one right, but oh well. Not exactly my area of expertise!
lyrics
We met on a saturday
Trying hard to avoid each other’s stare
I was holding a budwiser
He was standing there
I was always shy to some
Far away not one to talk a lot
Heard he was trouble
But willing to take a shot
All outta love open to try
Follow my heart for the first time
One Step, Closer to Love
Didn’t expect to find it - but we didn’t mind it
One Step, closer to love
First look and it was there
One step closer to love
Dreams it seemed were for other folks
Deserved em more than I did
He was different and saw the real me
Polish off the edges
He's a diamond in the rough
At least for once I'm feeling happy
Trust in my heart
Head in my hand
Pray to God that I found good man
