Well, I could probably ALMOST explain how we got where we got with this one, but I'm not sure. I'm pretty sure it started out as "Method of Modern Love." I can't possibly imagine what in the world I'm going to do with this, but strangely, I kinda like it. More Linn Drums and CP-70's and Prophets, but also some fake Oberheims on this one.
lyrics
All the wasted time
The wrong way down
got turned around
Through the looking glass again
And when the lights go dim
What you thought you saw
As a tragic flaw
it was just your last amen
All that peace
You could have had
Drift away like smoke rings
Came so close but lost the final clue
But don’t give up
I could be wrong
But I’ll be right here, waiting
Maybe there’s still time for you
the lengths you’ve gone
just to get what you wanted
The tricks you tried
You can run
To the end of time but
you can’t hide
And in the moment’s heat
You changed your mind
You were city blind
You were shooting from the hip
But now it won’t be long
Gonna realize
coulda won the prize
It was just a switch you flip
All that peace
You could have had
Drift away like smoke rings
Came so close but lost the final clue
But don’t give up
I could be wrong
But I’ll be right here, waiting
Maybe there’s still time for you
the lengths you’ve gone
just to get what you wanted
The tricks you tried
You can run
To the end of time but
you can’t hide
