Another serious rush job, which is strange, because I actually had time this week. Mitchell asked us to set parameters, and even though I didn't get nearly as specific as I know he was wanting us to get, I did set these ground rules for myself:
- The song was intended to be another Molly/Doug collaboration
- As per Molly's pleading, I wanted to write something at least marginally upbeat and poppy.
- Molly was listening to Travis and asked if I might write something sort of in that vein.
- As per the Travis vibe, I decided to work with a shuffle rhythm.
- The lyrics could not be about a breakup or a murder or anything else particularly dark.
Given the small amount of time I had to work on it, I like the bones of this one. The lyrics are utter crap and will need to be redrafted from the ground up.
I really wanted to hear Molly sing this one, but the poor girl has got a terrible cold today, so I let her off the hook.
