I started this with a free form fictional prose writing session, "morning pages" style. i used to do that regularly but now it's been years since i've done it. i thought i might get a story to write a song from. i wasn't particularly excited about where the writing went, so i stopped writing the story and starting composing the guitar part for this tune. the connection isn't a clear as i thought it might be, but i'm sure there is one.
lyrics
lift up your wings
let down your guard
old memories
cold energy
burns
right all your wrongs
peace fills your heart
you're traveling
past everything
known
i won't be home tonight
it's alright
no sad farewells for me
you see
all that i can be
now that i am free
