It was difficult to get that 80's and 90's country sound. I did my best but it wound up having a more contemporary country sound to it, more like Sam Hunt. I like it though!
lyrics
This ain’t my first rodeo
I’ve been around for a while
Had my fair share
Of heartaches and smiles
But you changed me
With the sound of your voice
Yeh it’s funny
I didn’t have a choice
Used to be if I heard my name
I was in trouble
Didn’t use words to make a point
I used my knuckles
I was a fool
But now I’m changed
By the love your voice and
The way you call my name
I’ll come running every time
It’s not a question of if I’ll come
How far do I have to run?
It’s used to be bad news
When I was recognized
Told to stand up and be identified
I’d just want to get gone
Disappear and start a different life
But you put love into my name
And it helped me see
All the possibilities of what I might be
I can’t explain
But you changed me
With the sound of your voice and
The way you call my name
Now I come running every time
It’s not a question of if I’ll come
How far do I have to run?
To be there
Nothing else can compare
To the sound of your voice in a refrain
Hearing the way
You call my name
Bridge
You can never say it too much
I can never get enough
The way you call my name
Now I come running every time
It’s not a question of if I’ll come
How far do I have to run?
To be there
Nothing else can compare
To the sound of your voice in a refrain
Hearing the way
You call my name
