Sometimes you need to find a reason to get out of your bed
Sometimes you need to find a reason to get out of your head
So just lie still
And try to chill
I know when things go wrong
Can’t always sit down and write a song
Sometimes you need to find a way to be strong
Find a way to be all right when things go wrong
Sometimes you need to find another match to make a new spark
Sometimes you need to find another moon to light up the dark
So just hold on
And wait for Dawn
I know when things go wrong
Can’t always veg out and smoke a bong
Sometimes you need to find a way to be strong
Find a way to be all right when things go wrong

Is it still bleeding from where we poked the holes in its side?
Is it still moving in circles like we told it to?
Way out here in the afternoon it is always bright
It likes stays behind enemy lines to keep its hide
They don’t like me anymore
They don’t like me anymore
How the times have changed
They don’t like me anymore
Raise a glass to the better days we have in store
Cheers to the five oceans that bash their heads upon the shore
They don’t like me anymore
They don’t like me anymore
Just cast me out, don’t look at me
They don’t like me anymore
They don’t like me anymore
They don’t like me anymore
How the times have changed
They don’t like me anymore

He travels this land far and wide
Strapped Colt pistol on each side
He'll give you a nod he'll give you a smile
He'll shoot your ass down he'll do it with style
Horse drawn wagon at the break of day
Bounty in hand directs the way
Mississippi mansion in his sights
One thing's certain there'll be blood by night
Plantation owner can't you see
This bullet is laced with apathy
When you see death am I what you think of
You'll die for freedom you'll die for love

You used to carry ‘round a chipped-up queen
From your daddy’s old chess set
You really thought you could move anywhere
and I wouldn’t have taken the bet
we’d sing “you can’t always get what you want”
but we never believed that’s the case
nobody offered you the prom queen’s crown
if they had, you’d have laughed in their face
but times move on
lines get drawn
and maybe you lost your nerve
Let’s ride as far as we can run
Down 421
The summer can drag you down
I never felt the sun before
You opened the door
And I don’t give a damn
Where we’re bound
nobody’s gonna stop our good times’ roll
oh, as long as we still let it bleed
you got me dizzy on this white light shine
and the rush of American speed
this ain’t no ’67 Thunderbird
and I ain’t who you’re dreaming about
but you can turn up that old radio
and we’ll sing til the daylight runs out
but times move on
lines get drawn
and maybe I lost my nerve
Let’s ride as far as we can run
Down 421
The summer can drag you down
I never felt the sun before
You opened the door
And I don’t give a damn
Where we’re bound
someday I might find the brass
to say
what you mean
but maybe in the meantime hit the gas
my Carolina queen …
Let’s ride as far as we can run
Down 421
The summer can drag you down
I never felt the sun before
You opened the door
And I don’t give a damn
Where we’re bound

Open my eyes to see
The ceiling right above me
Air breathing into my lungs
Another day has begun
What will I do
What will I say
On this my last day alive
The coffee, it tastes much better
My friends they seem a whole lot friendlier
Strange the things you notice when
You happen to know you're nearing the end
How would I live
Who would l love
If this were my last day alive
Making the most
Of every moment
When it might be your last day alive

Newscaster script:
Good evening everyone, I’m Jim Chesney, live at the CNN world headquarters in Atlanta. Tonight, a CNN Newsroom special report, The Apostle Killer.
Here’s what we know. The identity, unknown. The motive, unclear. The terror? Unfathomable.
Fear is gripping the southeast this Friday as seven young women have been found drowned in campsites and motels stretching from Asheville, North Carolina to New Orleans. Authorities believe the suspect’s method of murdering his victims by drowning is some form of bizarre baptism. That, coupled with the fundamentalist religious literature he leaves behind at the scenes has earned him the moniker, The Apostle Killer.
Police are on the lookout for a white male with brown hair, blue eyes, and of average height and weight. A young woman who asked that her name not be released saw a man of this description walking into a room at the Richland Inn outside of Lewisburg, Tennessee that ultimately became the third of the seven crime scenes he’s left behind. Police have also released a sketch of the man. If you have seen this person please contact the Orleans Parish Sheriff’s Office at 504-822-8000. They recommend no one approach this man under any circumstances, he is considered armed and extremely dangerous.

Lover, let’s say a prayer
To our unseen father
In the red twilight
Watch over us
In you place our trust
We render unto you your long lost lamb
Tuesday is gone
And forgiveness abounds
Freeing the lost
From the sin that surrounds
Lord, we thank thee
Let these praises resound
Now lay we down
Now lay we down
Now lay we down
Breathe in, take just a moment
Given your confession
You have seen the light
Let His precious love
Fill your empty cup
Your sins will wash away and you’ll float up
Tuesday is gone
And no one’s around
Freeing the lost
From the sin that surrounds
Lord I thank thee
Let these praises resound
I’ll lay thee down
I’ll lay thee down
I’ll lay thee down
To rest
Stop your squealin’
Stop your fightin’
This is for your own good
Askin’ for it
All your whorin’
You girls so Hollywood
That’s it, now she’s still
She floats as was Your will
I lay thee down
I lay thee down
Sweet Jane
It’s over now
No pain
In our Lord’s house
As you float
There asleep
Take my hope
And our Lord’s peace
Always this, the peace of leaving
Leaving them alone but with a view
I’ll be back to Mississippi
Maybe then I’ll find somebody new
I’ll see you there underneath the cedar trees
Where the water meets the wind so I’m told
A dragon’s tail, a winding road, the coolness of a breeze
Bringing in God’s children from the cold
Bringing in God’s children from the cold
Here in Louisiana make my home
Here in Louisiana ends the road

AG Y’all - Blackout
02:44
|
|||
Exploring in the dark when the lights go out
Woke up in a strangers bed
Pouring over lost & broken memories
Choking on the lonely past instead
Blackout - can’t see nothing
Blackout - in a strangers stare
Blackout - must be something
That matters in this cold night air
Dreaming of some place I can understand
Yearning for a safe space I can be
Temperature is rising to hysteria
Drowning in an endless sea
Blackout - can’t see nothing
Blackout - in a strangers stare
Blackout - there has to be something
That matters in this cold night air

v1:
What a day it was, a day like any other day
Except the sun shone brighter, and a warm breeze blew my way
So I stop to pause, to think of all the times I fell
No one tried to warn me, and I think that served me well
ch:
Thank God I didn't know better
Never thought about whether
I should do what I love throughout my years
Don't know why I didn't give up
A little faith, a lot of luck
But it's time to move on
There's nothing left for me here
There's nothing left for me here
v2:
They all turn to smile, and it seems like it's for me
We were in this together, it ain't hard to believe
As I walked the miles, I knew some of the steps were wrong
Call it strength or call it blindness, but I kept on pushing on
ch:
Thank God I didn't know better
Never thought about whether
I should do what I love throughout my years
Don't know why I didn't give up
A little faith, a lot of luck
But it's time to move on
There's nothing left for me here
There's nothing left
br:
You should know that you were always on my mind
I used up all my stories, gotta leave some behind
There's a bright star before you
It shouldn't be so hard to find
v1.5:
What a day it was, a day like any other day
Except the sun shone brighter, and then I start to fade
ch:
Thank God I didn't know better
Never thought about whether
I should do what I love throughout my years
Don't know why I didn't give up
A little faith, a lot of luck
But it's time to move on
It's time to move on
It's time to move on
There's nothing left for me here

IF I TRY
Hey if I chase away your troubles
Hey if I wipe away your sorrow
If i try If i try
If i try maybe you won’t mind
If i try maybe you’ll change your mind if I try
Hey if your rainbow disappears
Hey if the ghosts they sweep the air
If i try maybe you won’t mind
If i try maybe you’ll change your mind if I try
Can I make you understand
Can I give you a guiding hand
Can I help you make a plan
Can I bring you better way
Can I show you a sunny day
Can I beg for you to stay
Hey if I chase away your troubles
Hey if I wipe away your sorrow
If i try If I try.........

I
On the day that I come down from Bloodstone Mountain
Not a single soul dare look me in the eye
So I tossed another coin into the fountain
And I wished for sweet revenge before I die
The day is ending
I can’t stand to wait around and waste my time
There is no defending
Got to chase these visions terrible from my mind
II
The hills are awash in summer glory
And the river blazes brilliant in the sun
But there’s a page or two that missing form this story
Now it’s never been less clear which side has won
And the day is ending
The dust has settled - it’s quiet on the road
There is no hand for lending
Don’t expect to be repaid for what you're owed
III
There’s a darkness resting somewhere deep within me
There’s a light that shines, but can’t break through
I ain’t been sifting through the ashes of your memory
But it’s true that I often burn for you
And day is ending
They’re packing up the tents and moving on
All those prayers, you’ve been sending
Best keep ‘em to yourself until they’ve gone
IV
I know there’s evil in the wounded heart of my rival
I know too, that he deserves to have his day
As we approach the weary hour of his arrival
Be rest assured that from his path he’ll never stray
And the day is ending
It was over well before it could begin
I can’t keep form grinning
Soon it will stop and start itself again
V
I hear rumours in the whispers of her lovers
She reads fortunes in the tea leaves of her spoon
An odour in the air completely covers
When that sweet magnolia blossom start to bloom
And the day is ending
The sundown is a dazzling array
No sense in pretending
The day is done, so what's there left to say?

Tried to turn up, tried the sweat dreams- would not let me be
Not nostalgic about nostalgia no more
I'm not running-, no
The long and short, I'm not sweating you
I'm not running, no
Said the pushing with a quickness is all in the past
Tried to lay low, tried to Gulf Stream out
The shrapnel is a reminder in this flesh
I trade on vanity, I trade to faith, I trade on famine, I trade to faith, I trade but I ain't running 'no more
I'm not running, no
Not moving at the pace of a rambling ego
I'm not running, no
Ain't pushing with a quickness of a call of the past
Let it alone
I'm not running-, no
The long and the short: I ain't sweetening for you
I'm not running, no
Not going to push, push, push. Heart attack, baby
I don't trade in groove, I don't trade in lust, I don't trade in fate 'no more
I don't trade in push, I don't trade in pull, I don't chafe, but I ain't gonna run 'no more
Could be I'm just waiting on you to catch up...
I'm not running-, no
Say the tale of the tape ain't gonna tell my story
I'm not running
